Womens Grade Rugby Team

Burnside have fielded a womens team since 1999. Winning back-to-back premierships in 2008 and 2009, it has been a successful venture for the club. Affectionately known as the "Burnside Bunnies", those in the know realise thes girls are anything but fluffy bunnies - in fact, they are serious rugby players.

The Bunnies have always been well represented in state sides, and also boasts the only South Australian woman to represent Australia to date, Lee Fata, who was a starting player on the wing for the Wallaroos in the 2006 World Cup. More recently, Arina Prinsloo was selected int he Wallaroos training squad, though missed final selection for the 2014 World Cup - we have fingers crossed for 4 years' time.

The 2014 Bunnies are a young squad with potential to burn. Coach Wayne Vincent is the State Women's forward coach and has 30+ years of playing experience, many of these in Burnside's First Grade. The girls are improving in leaps and bounds and will be a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
